Abstract
As the world’s first renewable energy source, biomass has a lot of advantages which are being used nowadays for traditional or industrial purposes. The research conduc¬ted in this paper elaborates on the use of biomass energy in the commercial sector. The objective of the study is to propose a unitized façade system that integrates domestic biomass boilers for the generation of thermal energy used in heating and domestic hot water. A specific analysis on Barcelona and Ottawa proves the ability of the modular system to adapt to different climates by using different module combinations.
