dc.description.abstractThe penetration of renewable electricity sources as wind and solar power requires of large scale storage systems. The concept of Power-to-Gas has the challenge to convert the excess of electricity through CO2 caption and conversion to useful chemical compounds as synthetic natural gas, composed mainly of methane. That gas produced from renewable sources can be injected to the natural gas grid as a large scale storage system and it can be further used when necessary. The methanation of carbon dioxide is an important catalytic process with potentical commercial application, in which plasma technologies can be useful to reduce the temperature of operation. The aim of the present work is to study the effects of temperature on DBD plasma-catalysis reaction for CO2 conversion to synthetic natural gas. The laboratory experimentation will allow to determine effects of key factors on the temperature and the reaction and to optimize the working conditions for the reactions.
