Study and design of a new mechanism for furniture flap systems

Abstract

This project defines the mechanical design process of a new moving mechanism for flap systems for kitchen furniture. In the first part of the study a brief background analysis of the nowadays products is exposed defining the state-of-the-art of this field. Facts as the products position in the market and a brief comparison between the main brands in the sector are introduced. In the second part of the study, the product specifications are presented followed by the required standards related to this field. After this theoretical study, the technical designing aspects and requirements of the final product are introduced prefacing the design process. In the last part of the project the design process stages are reported. The brainstorming, the selection of the best mechanism alternative, the developing process of the prototype and its analysis are the main parts of this section. Finally further development suggestions and the final conclusions close the report
