Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to support the definition and industrialization phases of a specific process required for the manufacturing of automotive cameras used in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) applications. In particular, the machine under the scope of this thesis has been designed to calibrate the intrinsic parameters of cameras with narrow-angle lenses used for external rearview mirrors replacement. This study has been conducted with Ficosa International Corporation, in conjunction with both product design and production teams. To guarantee a correct development of the project, it has been intended from both technical and management point of views. The technical part has covered the work related with the definition of the machine and the guidelines for its industrialization, while the management part has been used to create the project management plan according to PMBOK Guide. The results provided present a feasible machine that has been proposed taking into account both product and process requirements, but also offering a flexible solution that can be easily adapted to future projects. Apart from reaching the main goals of the thesis, the work proposed has served as reference for future project developments inside the company
Description
The main objective of this master thesis is to design a specific process necessary for the manufacturing of automotive cameras used for ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) applications The process under study will automatically obtain the intrinsic parameters and store them on each camera, taking into account the constraints of the manufacturing environment and product specifications
