dc.description.abstract | The project deals with the design and development of an asset geolocation system. This will be an improvement that will be implemented within an ITIL software automation and management services marketed by the company ServiceTonic. To better understand what ServiceTonic is, the following example can be given: Imagine that your company's printer has run out of ink, then a ticket would be opened and assigned to a service agent in charge of solving the problem. On the other hand, this printer would be mapped in the assets library (CIs) of the same service. The project will allow geolocating the different software assets such as tickets, problems, contacts, agents and assets. On the other hand, it will be possible to exploit all this information through a tool with which we will be able to show all these assets and thus improve the productivity of the client. The improvement will be available, as well as the ServiceTonic software, through any web browser, making the tool multiplatform. Thanks to this, the fact that we can use it in a mobile device can be exploited, that is why there are functionalities of this project that are thought to be used in mobility, that is to say, that the administrator of the tool can control the agents that have deployed resolving incidences in other clients. The project is mostly done in Java, making use of the framework Java Server Faces and the suite of components of Primefaces. The software is a Maven project running under an Apache Tomcat server for the test environment. The connection to the database has been made through the Hibernate library to any MySQL, Oracle or SQLServer database. Finally, the improvement makes use of an external geolocation service such as Google Maps services, through an API. |
