Abstract
In this paper, we discussed the possibility and proposal to adapt heart rate based healthcare sensor at workplace to estimate working load for elderly worker by an holistic literature study. The occurrence of work related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) increase with age. Many older workers will have spent more time working in situations that are prone to lead to MSDs. There are predictive equations developed to estimate metabolic work rate (MWR) as a function of heart rate and physical characteristics. Besides, there are significant effects of mental stress on trapezius muscle activity and heart rate. On the other hand, little is known about occupational risks for coronary heart disease. A few specific toxins encountered occupationally are known to affect the heart, most prominently carbon disulfide, nitroglycerin, and carbon monoxide. However, the age group between 60 and 65 or 67 has been neglected from current standards. Therefore, this paper has promoted to protect those target users from mental stress and MSDs at workplace and promote heart health meanwhile improve the productivity of the companies
