dc.description.abstract[ANGLÈS] The 21st century is called to be the century of cities. According to the United Nations, the density of urban population in the world surpassed the rural one several years ago. In the coming years, this proportion is expected to increase significantly. It is predicted that by 2050 almost 70% of the world's population becomes urban and most of the cities around the world will have more than 10 million inhabitants. Cities are a scenario where people live and work, companies develop their activities and from which numerous services are provided to the citizens. All of these factors generate high impact on the society and economy as well as a great consumption of resources. Faced with this scenario, where urban environments demand more and more efficiency and reduction of public resources, innovative city management models are designed. These are supported by information and communication technologies (ICT), which are transformed into the Smart City concept. The concept of Smart City is still not well known by the vast majority of people. It was born in the 1990s and nowadays it is taking on more and more importance as a result of the rapid technological developments and the great deployment of all kinds of devices around the world. Currently there are active research lines in the development of technologies focused on the Smart philosophy applied to cities. They are used to optimize resources, improve mobility and improve the efficiency of public services. Through this project, we intend to support these investigations by developing a Smart Cities management panel with support for test benches and thus facilitate the testing of the urban systems and services that go along these lines of research.
