Abstract
Nowadays in Montcada i Reixac there is an important problem with the management of solid urban waste. Approximately 60% of the collected waste is of a fraction remaining, therefore they have not been separated in different types of waste to recycle or treat them later. Mostly, in Catalonia, controlled landfills are used to dispose of waste that can no longer be recycled most or most of this fraction remaining. Unfortunately, the treatment of this fraction is the main generators of 𝐶𝑂2 during the waste management, which requires large areas of land that harms ecosystems. In view of this problem, this project aims on comparison, analysis and approach of different environmental and social proposals for the change in the management of solid urban waste (RSU) between the town of Montcada i Reixac, located in the region of Vallès Occidental, and the city of Munich, located in the Baviera region (Germany). We will analyse the current situation of the people of Montcada in the management and collection of the RSU. We will do the same process in Munich in order to make the comparison and propose changes to the current Montcada system. It is based on different data, statistics and graphics obtained from different official sources reflected in the bibliography. After analysing the current situation of the management of urban solid waste in the municipality of Montcada i Reixac and the city of Munich, we can determine new proposals for change to improve the current situation of the collection and treatment of region waste.
