Abstract
Improving energy efficiency is one of the biggest challenges of today's society. This project aims to help within the residential sector. Using information related to the homes of sample users, as well as applying new measurement technologies to know the electrical consumption of homes, two studies have been carried out in parallel: a theoretical study using bibliographic data and a predictive study using real consumption data from the sample users. With the bibliographical study, results obtained greatly improve the predictions that were being made up before in the company. On the other hand, the predictive study has allowed to open a new way to compare the energy efficiency between households. Although the dataset used is not enough bigger, the results can show that it?s the way to follow in the future. It is concluded that, since the dataset will be large enough, the most reliable approximation is the theoretical one. However, as the number of users grows, the developed code will be used to prove, or not, the improvements of results using the predictive case.
