dc.description.abstractToday, it's considered that concrete is the most used material in all engineering works undergoing a higher bending, due to its many advantages. Even so, there are characteristics, such as tensile strength, which it can’t offer. The increase of resistance to flexural tensile strength, the control of cracking and the possibility of making concreting joints every 15 meters or more, means that concrete reinforced with steel fibers are used to make pavements or slabs, that is, structural elements without higher bending. This project is looking for to contribute to the empowerment of the material in the direction of structural area of higher responsibility by analysing the behaviour of beams with rectangular section. This analysis pretends to demonstrate if concrete reinforced with steel fibers provides higher advantages with respect to reinforced concrete for deformation purposes and both economic and sustainable levels.
