Astenáktos Polis : la ciudad sin gemidos

Abstract

Quisiera agradecer una vez más al profesor Muntañola su fidelidad en invitarme a este congreso, al cual yo soy, por mi formación, ajeno. Es la tercera vez que participo en esta reunión, que siempre ha tenido un carácter multidisciplinar. En las anteriores ocasiones se me había invitado para tratar una cuestión relativamente técnica, cercana a mis preocupaciones —yo soy filósofo y enseño en la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona Teoría del conocimiento y una cosa que se llama Introducción al pensamiento matemático—. A partir de ahí, justifico mi presencia en esta casa, donde, por otra parte, hice alguna vez un curso de Topología, hace ya muchos años, pues se me había invitado a tratar de cuestiones más bien topológicas que, como es evidente, interesan directamente a la profesión de arquitecto.

I would like to thank Professor Muntañola for showing me the confidence by once again inviting me to this congress, where I am an unusual participant due to my schooling. This is the third time I participate in this meeting, which has always had a multidisciplinary character. On the earlier occasions I was invited to discuss a relatively technical question, closely related to my concerns – I am a philosopher and I teach theory of the mind and something called introduction to mathematical thinking at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. So my invitation to this school, where I also did a course on topology, many years ago, was justified by saying that I was here to deal with questions of topological kind, which, as is obvious, are directly related to the profession of architects.
