dc.description.abstractAt the following pages you can find the development of the project “RUF Power Pick up”. The RUF System is a dual mode system that can be propelled by its own batteries and from the monorail. This system is a traffic congestion solution that most of all modern cities of the world have to handle. A highly efficient power system is designed in order to reach fuel economy improvement, lower pollution and Security in this transportation system In this project work we designed the entire power system in order to supply energy to the engines. The first concept is the research of the best solution for the structure of the monorail. The second concept tries to solve the power transmission from the contact rail to the power pick-up device in a reliable and safe way. The third concept is the Energy supply when the vehicle is out of the monorail delivered by sufficient number of batteries. Finally, in order to improve the efficiency of the system, a braking recover energy system has been designed. All these concepts are well proven by many calculations and and are framed in the proper legislative framework.
