The problem begins in the steel industry. The manufacture of steel generates many types of waste, among which we find the steel slag. Getting rid of these materials generates a cost and a negative environmental impact. Researchers have studied these materials and they have determined that they can be used in other fields of construction, for our case, it can be used in bituminous mixtures. In this way, we would take advantage of the material, saving money for its destruction and avoiding pollution of the environment. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis is to determine the mechanical and thermal behavior of the bituminous mixture with siderurgical aggregate, comparing it with the bituminous mixture made of conventional aggregates. In this way, 22 Marshall specimens have been manufactured from each bituminous mixture. These specimens will be evaluated with mechanical tests of rigidity modulus, Ebade and indirect traction. All tests evaluated in 3 different temperatures, to be able to compare the behavior of the material in different thermal conditions. A thermal irradiation test has also been carried out to achieve further conclusions of the thermal behavior. Finally, an innovative test has been made that measures the contraction of the material and the necessary force due to sudden changes in temperature, starting the test at 20 ° C and ending at -5 ° C.
