In this final thesis the idea of Building Management System (BMS) is implanted where its description will be treated, the different types that we can find and the communication protocols. A BMS design standardization will be carried out and a practical case will be developed where it will apply this process for the standardization of a BMS in a tunnel. In order to achieve the implementation of a BMS, an abbreviations table is used throughout the report, explanation, description and which steps should be followed in these types of systems and a study of the current state and where are installed taking into account the benefits we get. Once we have addressed all the information, it will implement a case study using the few key steps to get to endow a facility with BMS control system. Finally, an economic and environmental impact study will be made, final conclusions of the project will be presented and all sources consulted for the development of the report. This work has been completed with the collaboration of SENER Company, Engineering and Systems SA, where company I have been doing the curricular practices as a fellow and offered me the possibility to develop and design a BMS system in a road tunnel.
