The aim of the present work is to give the reader a fairly extensive overall perspective of the history of Spanish public infrastructure procurement, as well as to describe the current situation of the sector in the country. It is also intended to analyse and compare the bidding process against a range of different countries and to highlight both the assets and liabilities of the Spanish system of public procurement, and to finally give, with a critical perspective, different opinions and improvement suggestions to the problems regarding public infrastructure procurement and tendering processes. The work also intends to delve deeper into the international success of Public-Private Partnerships and find a positive outcome for its application in future Spanish adjudications.
