Graphic method to evaluate power requirements of a hydraulic system using load-holding valves
(2022-07-01)
Article
Open AccessIt is very well known that the use of a load-holding valve (LHV) in a hydraulic system introduces additional energy consumption. This article presented a simplified graphical method for analyzing the power requirements of ... -
In-house low-cost water table prototype to practically analyse the modelling compressible flow in a fluid engineering course
(Sage, 2022-06-19)
Article
Open AccessThe present work studies the hydro-gasdynamic analogy between a shock wave, occurring in supersonic internal or external compressible flows, and a hydraulic jump, a sort of normal shock occurring in open-channel flows. It ... -
Energy key performance indicators for mobile machinery
(2022-02-14)
Article
Open AccessMobile machinery manufacturers must face and deal with reducing fuel consumption, rising prices, and environmental pollution. The development of methods to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the energy performance ... -
Multi-factor design for a vacuum ejector improvement by in-depth analysis of construction parameters
(Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI), 2022-08-17)
Article
Open AccessA vacuum supersonic ejector is an indispensable pneumatic device placed in nearly all industrial production lines. This device, also called a zero-secondary flow ejector, is characterized by the maximum entrained flow and ... -
Model of the floating bearing bushing movement in an external gear pump and the relation to its parameterization
(2021-12-18)
Article
Open AccessThis article presents the modeling, simulation and experimental validation of the movementof the floating bearing bushing in an external gear pump. As a starting point, a complete pumpparameterization was carried out through ... -
Study of the effect of vertical airfoil endplates on diffusers in vehicle aerodynamics
(Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute, 2021-07-21)
Article
Open AccessDiffusers and the floor ahead of them create the majority of the downforce a vehicle creates. Outside motorsports, the diffuser is relatively unused, although its interaction with the ground is a consistent field of study ... -
Simulation of ejector for vacuum generation
(Institute of Physics (IOP), 2019-10-31)
Article
Open AccessSupersonic ejectors are used in a wide range of applications such as compression of refrigerants in cooling systems, pumping of volatile fluids, or vacuum generation. The objective of the present paper is to mesh and ... -
Multi-point-of-view energy loss analysis in a refuse truck hydraulic system
(2021-05-09)
Article
Open AccessIn recent years, much research has focused on reducing the power consumption of mobile hydraulic machines due to rising fuel costs, regulations on combustion engine emissions and the need to reduce the size and weight of ... -
Parameterization, modeling, and validation in real conditions of an external gear pump
(2021-03-11)
Article
Open AccessThis article presents a methodology for predicting the fluid dynamic behavior of a gear pump over its operating range. Complete pump parameterization was carried out through standard tests, and these parameters were used ... -
Simulation of hydraulic cylinder cushioning
(2021-01-02)
Article
Open AccessThe internal cushioning systems of hydraulic linear actuators avoid mechanical shocks at the end of their stroke. The design where the piston with perimeter grooves regulates the flow by standing in front of the outlet ... -
Discharge coefficients of a heavy suspension nozzle
(MDPI, 2021-03-15)
Article
Open AccessThe suspensions used in heavy vehicles often consist of several oil and two gas chambers. In order to perform an analytical study of the mass flow transferred between two gas chambers separated by a nozzle, and when ... -
Gears or rotors-three approaches to design of working units of hydraulic machines
(Institute of Physics (IOP), 2019)
Conference report
Open AccessThe gerotor pump has many advantages over other hydraulic pumps, such as high reliability, compactness, lower noise in running conditions etc. Considering the increasingly stringent regulations in the field of environmental ...
