dc.description.abstract | [ANGLÈS] The main objective of this project is to improve an automatic bicycle pedal to avoid the lubrication, and at the same time lighten its weight. his is done by replacing the bearings that are inside by a tecnic plastic bushing, which won’t need neither lubrication nor the periodic maintenance, similarly absorbing the rotational movement of the pedal. Studying the concept of tribology, and therefore friction, wear and lubrication, we can understand the operation of the bearings, differentiating between ball bearings and bushings. To achieve the goal, it is necessary to go through a design phase. At this point, the materials, their dimensions, their operation and even the useful life of the system are detailed, guaranteeing the good functioning from a theoretical framework. With the premises obtained in the previous phase, a real prototype is made, giving validity to the design. This prototype is subjected to tests to corroborate its operation and evaluate the analytical part experimentally. At the same time, a prototype is built in three dimensions mode. This prototype will complement the design phase, helping to assume the real working dimensions. Thanks to the user experience, which interacts with the real prototype, new objectives can be established in order to improve the system, or to propose future improvements. With all this, I want to apply all the knowledge obtained during the mechanical engineering degree, improving a daily system and developing the knowledge learned during these years. |
