- Mineria, validació correcció i fusió de dades heterogènies al el suport de informació cognitiva;
- Disseny de sistemes de diagnosis i control tolerants a fallades, resilients i segurs;
The group aim is to carry out applied research in the following areas: - Modelling, identification and simulation of continuous and discontinuous industrial processes
- Advanced control of dynamic systems
- Optimisation and constraint satisfaction
- Supervision and fault diagnosis of industrial processes and systems
- Fault-tolerant control; and related subjects.
The aim is to devise software applications that increase the reliability and performance of processes and systems on the basis of this research.

Replay attack detection using a zonotopic KF and LQ approach
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2020)
Conference report
Open AccessThis paper exploits the analogy between the stochastic and zonotopic Kalman filters with the aim of formulating a metric that allows to assess the impact of an external zonotopically bounded signal in an state estimate ... -
A comparison of modelling approaches for closed-loop decision making over discrete domains in manufacturing systems
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2020)
Conference report
Open AccessThe manufacturing industry is transforming towards smart, flexible, and energy-efficient systems. In this regard, control strategies based on optimisation have been proposed to improve the energy efficiency of manufacturing ... -
Health-aware LPV model predictive control of wind turbines
(2020)
Conference report
Open AccessWind turbine components are subject to considerable stress and fatigue due to extreme environmental conditions to which they are exposed to, especially when located offshore. Interest in the integration of control with ... -
Model-based prognosis approach using a zonotopic Kalman filter with application to a wind turbine
(2020)
Conference report
Open AccessWind turbines generally operate under adverse conditions making them prone to relatively high failure rates. Due to the direct exposure of the blades to dynamic and cyclic loads of wind, the rotor and the blades unsurprisingly ... -
System reconfiguration of large-scale control systems using back-up actuators
(2020)
Conference report
Open AccessThe intrinsic redundancy of large-scale control systems allows to differentiate between the nominal system configuration, where the dynamics of the plant are controlled through a specific subset of actuators, and the ... -
Dual mode control strategy for the energy efficiency of complex and flexible manufacturing systems
(2020-07-01)
Article
Restricted access - publisher's policyThe manufacturing industry is shifting towards smart manufacturing, in which both energy efficiency and flexibility are some of the main objectives of this digital transformation. In this regard, the control strategies for ... -
Robust economic model predictive control of water transport networks
(2020)
Conference report
Restricted access - publisher's policyIn this paper, a robust economic model predictive controller is proposed for a water transport network. Considering that forecast of demand is required in the drinking water network (DWN) for future predictions of states ... -
Economic reliability-aware MPC-LPV based on chance-constraints programming for water networks *
(2020)
Conference report
Open AccessThis paper proposed an economic reliabilityaware model predictive control (MPC) for the management of drinking water transport networks (DWNs) that includes a new goal to increase the system and components reliability based ... -
A supervisory active fault tolerant control framework for constrained linear systems*
(2020)
Conference report
Open AccessIn this paper, a supervisory active fault tolerant control (SAFTC) scheme is presented for linear systems with constraints. The SAFTC framework is composed of a fault diagnosis module, a reconfigurable controller and a ... -
An interactive teaching/learning approach to the design of robust linear control systems using the closed-loop shaping methodology
(2020)
Conference lecture
Open AccessUsually the controller is designed working on the open-loop transfer function. However, it is also possible to design the controller working on the closed-loop transfer functions. The closed-loop shaping methodology o ers ... -
Hinf interactive controller design for teaching purposes
(2020)
Conference lecture
Restricted access - publisher's policyHinf-based controller design is one of the most powerful methodologies for controller design in the frequency domain. Unfortunately, its use requires advanced knowledge of control theory. The use of interactive tools allows ... -
Online network-constrained dispatch of distributed generators in radial networks
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2020)
Conference report
Open AccessHigh penetration of distributed generation will be characteristic to future distribution networks. The dynamic, intermittent, uncertain and deregulated nature of distributed generation raises the need for online, distributed ...
