El grup SAC és un grup de recerca de la UPC actiu des del 1990 i l'any 2014 va ser reconegut com a grup de recerca consolidat. Des del seu inici, l'activitat científica del grup gira a l'entorn de temes relacionats amb la Supervisió, Seguretat i el Control Automàtic de sistemes i infraestructures crítiques.
Actualment, l'activitat científica del grup està organitzada a l'entorn dels següents temes:
- Mineria, validació correcció i fusió de dades heterogènies al el suport de informació cognitiva;
- Disseny de sistemes de diagnosis i control tolerants a fallades, resilients i segurs;
- Prognosis per estimar la salut dels sistemes i desenvolupar metodologies de manteniment predictiu.
- Disseny de sistemes de control òptim i gestió optimitzada de la producció
- Planificació de trajectòries i guiatge de vehicles autònoms.
Dins d'aquests àmbits el grup SAC està reconegut internacionalment fet que ho demostra el gran nombre de col·laboracions internacionals que té.
