Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to provide an
analytical approach to the thermal behavior of a longitudinal flux flat linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) suitable for
the early stages of motor design. The approach uses a thermal model based on lumped parameters and adapted to the
particularities of LSRMs. The thermal network is solved using the widely recognized Matlab-Simulink software. The proposed analytical approach was verified by means of experimental measurements and thermographic analysis.
