La presente investigación es un estudio realizado a partir de una serie de espacios que están incluidos en la zona de lo que fue el plan del Liceo al Seminario. Una propuesta que no llegó a ejecutarse, pero que por medio de operaciones puntuales se reactivó una zona que estaba en desuso. A partir de preguntas como: ¿Qué condiciona el éxito o fracaso de un espacio público? ¿Por qué un espacio público antiguo se usa más que uno del tipo contemporáneo? ¿Existe una relación directa entre la morfología del espacio y la dinámica de las personas? Se planteó así, el estudio, análisis e interpretación de una serie de espacios conectados entre sí, a partir de la observación y paseo entre ellos, y se determinó la secuencia contínua entre ellos, estableciendo parámetros en base a los recorridos, transiciones y relaciones con los usos de alrededor, todo ello tomando como base el antiguo plan del Liceo al Seminario.
Se analizaron inicialmente 7 espacios públicos, para luego pasar al estudio y análisis
de 3 espacios representativos dentro del conjunto, realizados en 3 días a la semana y
en 7 horas por día, con el fin de obtener datos del uso de las personas y la relación que había entre arquitectura- espacio - uso. Se establecieron indicadores de uso como recorridos, estancias e interacciones, para luego establecer las formas de adaptaciones, mutaciones y apropiaciones que le daban las personas a los espacios, y con ello observar qué tanto del espacio útil se utilizaba y cuánto porcentaje de espacio se quedaba en desuso.
Con este trabajo se conoció un sector de ciudad a partir del estudio de una propuesta en la ciudad que, si bien es cierto no se realizó, sirvió para entender la lógica de operaciones que ayudaron a recuperar la ciudad, y en base a ello, ponerlo en confrontación con los espacios en la actualidad. Contribuye además al conocimiento de un sector de la ciudad y comprender el papel que juega la arquitectura con el espacio, existiendo una relación de codependencia entre ambas. Se logra entonces, una mirada en varias direcciones, no sólo en lo formal , sino también considerando el uso en relación al tiempo como factor importante en el análisis del espacio.
The present research is a study made from a series of spaces that are included in the area of what was the plan of the Liceo al Seminario. A proposal that did not get executed, but that by means of specific operations an area that was in disuse was reactivated. Based on questions such as: What determines the success or failure of a public space? Why is an old public space used more than one of the contemporary type? Is there a direct relation between the morphology of space and the dynamics of people? In this way the study, analysis and interpretation of a series of connected spaces, from observation and walking between them, was determined, and the continuous sequence between them was determined, establishing parameters based on the routes, transitions and relations with the uses around, all based on the old plan of the Liceo al Seminario.
Initially, 7 public spaces were analyzed, and then the study and analysis of 3 representative spaces within the group were carried out, 3 days a week and 7 hours a day, in order to obtain data on people’s use and relationship which was between architecture –space – use. Indicators of use were established as journeys, stays and interactions, to then establish the forms of adaptations, mutations and appropriations that gave the people to the spaces, and with that to observe how much of the useful space was used and how much percentage of space was left in disuse.
With this work a city sector was known starting from the study of a proposal in the city that, although it was not realized, served to understand the logic of operations that helped to recover the city, and based on it, to put it in confrontation with the spaces in the present time. It also contributes to the knowledge of a sector of the city and to understand the role that architecture plays with space, with a relationship of codependency between both. A look in several directions is achieved, not only in the formal, but also considering the use in relation to time as an important factor in the analysis of space.
