Abstract

Ever since the emerge of the social networks and the boom of mobile applications, the interpersonal relationships are increasingly taking place in an online environment. This factor, added to the growth in physical inactivity, is causing a social disconnection within our society. To confront this issue, the creation of a mobile application that encourages people to play sports as well as meet other peers is proposed. This application allows for the publication of outdoor sports activities, moreover, permitting the search of such activities and people closest to the chosen criteria. In addition, users can receive and leave reviews which will help to value their behavior on the platform. Users who engage in the same activity are given access to an internal chat so that they can quickly communicate. Previous to the conception of the application, an analysis of the sector's current competition aimed to discover a niche in the market has been carried out, Furthermore, a study of potentially interested users has also been performed. In order to create the application, it has been used a development platform that permits the generation of applications for mobile devices with operative system Android, IOS and Windows. Regarding the server, a contracted service that provides all the development options needed to perform the application functionalities has been employed. The main outcome of the project is the development of a beta version of the application, as well as its publication into the Android application store. This first, published version includes all of the functionalities required for users to create sports activities or search and join existing ones.
