dc.description.abstract | This project focuses on the aim of solving an unfair and misunderstood reality towards society nowadays.A society that perceives home automation and its integration to the dwelling as something complex and only affordable for those who dispose of a comfortable and privileged economical situation. The work consists therefore of the design and implementation of a modular system which can adapt itself to the principal features and appearances of the standard dwelling of a city. This way, the project looks for a cost reduction of the same through the optimization of the electronics and its integration to the housing.Thus, it is achieved a simple and efficient system, capable of providing main basic features of a commercialized home automation system, not foregoing an easy and comfy interaction with the user. The work also brings in an interesting background, where aims to raise certain awareness to the reader towards the economical reality of home automation systems. Truth being said, these do not involve an expense but a quite cost-effective investment. |
