Procedimiento generalizado de branch-and-bound

Abstract

El objetivo del trabajo que ha dado origen a este artículo consistía en elaborar una formalización de los procedimientos de branch-and bound que, por su generalidad, comprendiera como casos particulares a los detectados en la literatura y que, por ello, constituyera un marco teórico en el que incsibir las diversas implementaciones existentes y otras que pudieran derivarse, inclusive las de tipo heurístico, por relajación de alguna/s de las condiciones.

The work reported in this paper was aimed at building up such a formulation of branch andbound procedures that, due t.o its generality, would encompass as particular cases those that can be found in the related literature. Being that so_, this formulation would become a theoretical frame where any existing implementation, and others to be derived, could fit in, and even the heuristic ones through relaxation of some constraints. The paper has two main parts. In the first a pseudoaxiomatic formulation is given, to gether with an informal description. In the second, practical problems and the conclusions of some experiments are analysed.
