Abstract

A graph G is an n-generic circuit for bar frameworks in n-space if in a generic realization of G as a bar framework in n-space, the deletion of any one edge (or bar) does not increase the degree of freedom (dimension of space of infinitesimally flexes) while the deletion of any two does. In this paper we describe several general methods of constructing 3-generic circuits. Using these general constructions, a host of examples of 3g-circuits are found.
