Development of a multimedia application

Abstract

The Project consists on developing a video player for GNU/Linux called PERLA. The application will have the capacity to play several streams simultaneously, from local or remote sources. PERLA wants to focus on a market where multiple streams need to be viewed at the same time: TV production, video monitoring, business videoconference, e-learning, ... so this project can be taken as a first prototype or a brief generalization of those kind of application, as a basis where different market can specialize on each own purpose.
