Inside an unpredictable industrial context characterized by growing complexity and market specialization, cleantech companies see the necessity of cooperating with one another in order to face together an ever-‐changing market. This new situation leads to network creation, where companies are able to draw together a common area of knowledge and competencies beyond their industrial boundaries. These reasons point out the importance of establishing fruitful and far-‐reaching partnerships. However, this is not a straightforward step, as there are no predefined rules for the identification and selection of potential collaboration partners. Accordingly, the core goal of the thesis focuses in the appearance of an unmet need: identifying potential collaboration among companies performing inside a changing and uncertain technology market. In order to satisfy this unmet need, the present paper addresses several research sub-‐questions, which guide the report to a set of conclusions that, when put together, enclose a global perspective that can inspire the formation of productive partnerships beyond the traditional industrial boundaries. The selected methodological approach is network analysis, a method that finds its roots in graph theory. Hence, multiple network graphs are analysed throughout the thesis, where 256 companies that are members of the Danish organization Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster (CCC) are mapped in different Knowledge Networks or industrial contexts. To this effect, this paper also includes a study of the interaction of the former companies with 19 Danish research and knowledge institutions. Through these network maps the interaction and collaboration possibilities inside the Danish Cleantech Industry are foreseen and permit the extraction of conclusions and implications for practice concerning cleantech companies, research and knowledge institutions and public organizations.
