dc.description.abstractNowadays people in society are demanding an increase in the security and comfort of their homes and at the same time saving money and time. If we would like to achieve this aim, we have to improve our efficiency applying our technology and knowledge on new systems. Accomplishing this objective will not only would help the people, and will also benefit the whole society by decreasing contamination and energy waste. After thousands of years of evolution we have realized that the most efficient system are living things, so the best way to improve our technology is copying and adapting their systems. Biofied Building was created by designing and building a technological mechanism be able to learn and understand the human being and improve their lives. With this understanding we can make several systems for adapt an environment to a human being and doing their life more comfortable and easy. The robot in charge of that is called e-­‐bio and is designed for collect all the data and act on it. The target of the thesis is building a system that allows to e-­‐bio to follow a human using a Kinect, a laser system and an encoder sensor of the wheels. The Kinect device allows to know the position of the human relating to e-­‐bio, so that means know in which direction and velocity e-­‐bio has to move for follow the target suitably. On the other hand, laser system allows making a map of the forward zone of the e-­‐bio and locating possible obstacles on its movement. Finally, using the encoder sensor we can know approximately the distance moved and the rotation relating an absolute coordinates. Through this three devices I am going to make a system for follow human avoiding possible obstacles or in case of losing the target, try to find it again with a heuristic method.
