Tecnología HTML5

Abstract

Este documento contiene la explicación del trabajo realizado sobre el estudio de la tecnología HTML5. El término “HTML5” se utiliza para referirse a un conjunto de tecnologías relacionadas con la Web, también denominadas Open Web Platform. HTML5, además de especificar la nueva versión del lenguaje HTML, define un conjunto de APIs que proporcionan nuevas funcionalidades en las aplicaciones Web, como el almacenamiento de datos, la geolocalización, la manipulación de gráficos, la creación de threads, el uso de elementos multimedia o la utilización de sockets para la comunicación entre cliente y servidor. El objetivo del trabajo es descubrir las posibilidades que ofrece la tecnología HTML5 y ver sus ventajas respecto a la versión anterior, HTML4. El proyecto que se ha desarrollado consiste en la creación de pequeñas aplicaciones Web que muestran un uso práctico de las distintas APIs de HTML5. Asimismo se ha diseñado un sitio Web con el propósito de presentar y englobar en un mismo lugar las diferentes aplicaciones.

English: This document contains the explanation of the work done about the study of HTML5 technology. The term “HTML5” is used to refer to a set of Web-related technologies, also known as Open Web Platform. HTML5, as well as specifying the new version of the HTML language, defines a set of APIs that provides new functionalities in the Web applications, such as data storage, geolocation, graphics manipulation, creation of threads, the use of multimedia elements or the use of sockets for the communication between client and server. The aim of this work is to discover the possibilities offered by the HTML5 technology and to view its advantages over the previous version, HTML 4. The project that has been developed consists of the creation of small Web applications that show a practical use of the different HTML5 APIs. It has also designed a Website with the purpose to present and include in the same place the different applications.
