Abstract
This Bachelor's Thesis focuses on the design and development of a hydraulic lifting structure intended to facilitate access to the aquatic environment for people with reduced mobility. The project arises from the goal of applying the technical experience consolidated at the company Comercial Blautec SL to create a solution that optimizes user autonomy in sports facilities and swimming pools. The main objective is to design a versatile structure that accommodates both wheelchairs and users who remain standing during the transit. A mandatory requirement of the design is absolute safety within the aquatic environment; for this reason, the proposal is based exclusively on hydraulic actuation, completely dispensing with any electrical components or battery power that could pose a risk in contact with water. The methodology of this work is subdivided into three key phases: Industrial definition and integration: An analysis of how to adapt the platform to existing lifting structures and cylinders currently used in the industry, with the aim of leveraging proven mechanical components and reducing manufacturing complexity. Systematic material selection: A comparative study is proposed based on the definition of objective functions and the use of Ashby charts. This phase seeks to identify the most suitable material or combination of materials (considering monocoque solutions or hybrid tubular structures) to withstand the corrosive environment and mechanical loads. Calculation and validation: Necessary structural checks are performed to ensure that the design withstands the required stresses while maintaining regulatory safety factors. With this approach, this thesis aims to demonstrate that through rigorous material selection and proper adaptation to existing production resources, it is possible to obtain a lifting structure that is eƯicient, durable, and completely safe for the end user.
