For performing this study, I searched for a real metallic mining project, which keep posted as much information as possible of his exploitation deposit. I had found a gold deposit in Canada, which the investigator company provide data for all the drills since the beginning of the investigation of the site till now days. With these data, the site has been relocated here in Catalonia, to create a statement which has been derived to this work. From there, using the resources and techniques that have been learned and used during the engineering mining degree and the master of mining engineering, I made a technical and economic study for this supposed gold deposit. Among other things it has sought in this study there are: the economic feasibility, the optimal exploitation by open pit mining, make an estimate of the initial investment, calculate phases of operation and the amounts of mineral exploited, design and positioning on the map the facilities that take part in the operation, etc. All this, has been done using specialized software for mining engineering, which provide a lot of tools to make an accurate estimation of the studied deposit, as well functions to calculate the three-dimensional ultimate pit and the optimum sequence. Finally, we have obtained some conclusions about if it would be worthwhile invest in this project, and comparing the results with my final degree project that I did in 2015, which was made from two-dimensional methods and sections interpolations.
