Abstract
Control of the power converters in the Renewable Static Synchronous Generation units based on the Synchronous Power Control technique (RSSG-SPC) provides the opportunity for the grid operators to use simple and efficient solutions to overcome the practical limitation of renewables on delivering energy. Control of the Up/Down level of the injected active power into the grid by making minimum dynamic tension in the grid can be achieved by a grid-friendly Active Power Limiter (APL). In this paper, an APL is proposed based on the control mechanism of the SPC to limit the output active power of the converters in RSSGSPC. Results of the primary analysis on the application of the APL in the RSSG-SPC installed in two area system, confirm that the proposed APL on well-designed RSSG-SPC can control and limit the active power on both limitation borders smoothly and fast. Moreover, the real time outcomes are validating the advantages of the proposed APL.
