Abstract
Recommendations for pneumococcal vaccination are based on studies of vaccination effectiveness against invasive pneumococcal disease. The aim of this project is to evaluate the effectiveness of the 23-valent pneumococcal vaccine in adults aged 65 years or older. The epidemiology of the pneumococcal disease will be described and the analysis will be performed using a matched case-control study design. Conditional logistic regression will be used to estimate adjusted odds ratios and, from there, the effectiveness of Pneumococcal vaccine will be assessed.
