Music video to 2D animation

Abstract

Nowadays, Music Videos for songs are really common, and everyone has watched at least one in their whole life. But, how many of those have been animated ones, and not filmed? This Final Degree Project has centered around this question, how would an animation MV be accepted by the people? The artist has decided to choose an already existing and established MV, with 7.7 views, Why Dont You Stay, and transform it into 2D Animation, mixing it with the technique of Rotoscope animation (which consists of drawing over a real life video, frame by frame, to create the movements). Before jumping into the creation of the full piece, she has chosen to create a teaser, which would show the interest of the people and if it would work. This project dives into the different steps that have to be done before and after creating the animation teaser itself, such as creating a teaser by using the already existing real life scenes, creating a character design for the people appearing in it, the animation and the editing. OBJECTIVES: -Analyze an already existing MV in detail, to convert it into 2D animation -Analyze already existing scenes to convert them into 2D animation -Learn more about 2D Animation and Rotoscoping -Get a satisfactory result from the animated MV -Create the characters that will appear in the MV (basically adapting the actors to 2D characters) -Create the environments that are going to appear in the MV (also adapting them from the ones that appear in the MV) -Improve her knowledge and skills with the programs Photoshop, Toon Boom Harmony, Procreate and Adobe Premiere Pro.
