Abstract
As driving safety is a top priority in today's world, there are significant efforts to reduce road accidents and injuries. Advanced technologies and real-time computing hardware are being explored to enhance safety and convenience for drivers and passengers. In this context, memristors have emerged as a promising candidate for the implementation of such hardware, offering unique features such as non-volatility and in-memory computing capabilities. Memristive oscillators have demonstrated applications in signal processing, unconventional computing paradigms, and bio-inspired systems. This paper focuses on the potential of Memristive Neuromorphic Voltage Controlled Oscillators (MNVCOs) in distance detection systems within the automotive industry, thereby contributing to enhanced driving safety. This study presents a novel MNVCO design utilized for object avoidance. The proposed MNVCO circuit is fully analog and neuromorphic, enabling continuous voltage-to-frequency mapping to alert drivers when required. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed concept.
