dc.description.abstractDuring summers 2003 and 2004 a measurement campaign was carried out over Catalonia (N-E of Spain). In these campaigns, lightning electrostatic field as well electric and magnetic fields were measured. This paper describes a simple method to estimate the return stroke current for nearby strokes. The method presented analyzes the electrostatic component of the electric field to approach the return stroke current waveform.
