Entierro, Olvido y Descubrimiento. Tres términos que pretenden generar una aproximación a la condición de una construcción urbana fugaz, propia de un período de tiempo tan intenso como breve, que resurge de las entrañas de la tierra como testimonio de la ciudad que una vez fue y hoy podemos reconocer a través de sus huellas. Los refugios antiaéreos de la guerra civil española son el vestigio de una época marcada por el desarrollo de las tecnologías de la producción, el control social y la violencia sistematizada. La guerra aérea diluye el limite entre frente y retaguardia, y las nuevas tecnologías de la destrucción impulsan la creación de una red subterránea de gran envergadura afectada por el desvanecimiento y el olvido. El debate histórico como temporalización viva del espacio público, en una reivindicación de la memoria colectiva, abre paso al diálogo, al pensamiento y la reflexión necesarios para la re conexión de estas galerías con la ciudad, así como la comprensión de su valor cultural, patrimonial y arquitectónico.

Burial, oblivion and discovery: these three terms aim to give us an idea of the condition of a fleeting urban construction, typical of a period as intense as it is brief. It resurfaces from the bowels of the earth as a testimony of the city that once was and that we can now recognize through its traces. The air-raid shelters of the Spanish Civil War are the remains of an era marked by the development of production technologies, social control and systematized violence. Aerial warfare blurs the separation between front line and the home front, and new technologies of destruction drive the creation of a large-scale underground network affected by fading and oblivion. The historical debate as a living temporalization of public space, in a vindication of collective memory, gives way to the dialogue, thought and reflection necessary for the reconnection of these galleries with the city, as well as the understanding of their cultural, heritage and architectural value.
