dc.description.abstractThe objective of this project is to study, from an aerodynamic point of view, two Formula 1 front wings. One of the 2018 season, and the other, its successor, the one of the 2019 season. First of all, the fundamental concepts of aerodynamics are explained: the boundary layer, Reynolds number, viscosity, etc. Later, the most important aerodynamic concepts focused on a Formula 1 single-seater are explained. It is also shown why a front wing is so important in this type of vehicles. Then, several simulations are made with one and another wing applying different cases, from the simplest case to a more complex case, that is to say, it starts with just the wing, and ends up incorporating the front wheel in motion. Finally, the results obtained in the cases studied are analyzed in order to draw conclusions regarding the evolution of their performance, such as downforce and drag, as well as comparative analysis of the development of phenomena associated with turbulence, such as the creation of vortex and the generation of rough air zones
