Abstract
The CO2 power cycle has gained attention as an alternative to the classical Rankine and Brayton cycles during this transition to sustainable energy production from the current available methods that have a prime share of greenhouse gas emissions. The power cycle mainly consists of turbomachines and heat exchangers in which the study on heat exchangers is crucial to optimise better performance. The heat exchangers involve the heat transfer process in which CO2 is an interesting working fluid that has complexities in thermal hydraulic designs, particularly near the saturation dome where the properties change abruptly. The work focuses on analysing the heat exchanger in a complete numerical perspective mainly to analyse the process involved and also to characterise their performance.
