El propòsit d’aquest treball consisteix a comprendre la importància que les rieres i els torrents tenen per al territori de l’Alt Maresme, tant des d’una perspectiva territorial més àmplia, com des dels hàbitats naturals propers, o quina influència tenen sobre l’entorn més immediat per als veïns i veïnes dels diferents municipis de la comarca. Alhora, es pretén indagar en la naturalesa d’aquests ecosistemes que conformen i desaigüen el territori. Així mateix, es proposa analitzar, descriure i comparar com la transformació accelerada dels darrers dos segles han modificat la societat i, concretament, la convivència amb la xarxa hídrica d’aquest territori. Es vol explorar les actuacions que han alterat la morfologia dels cursos torrencials fins al punt de fer-los desaparèixer del territori i del coneixement col·lectiu. L’abast d’aquesta anàlisi té com a finalitat construir una narrativa sobre els efectes que les alteracions hidràuliques han produït en la xarxa hidrològica, així com la seva repercussió en els ecosistemes del Maresme. A més a més, s’estudia noves estratègies d’urbanització i convivència amb els espais torrencials, amb la finalitat de recuperar i restaurar els espais naturals i fomentar noves relacions amb els urbans.

The purpose of this work is to understand the importance that creeks and torrents have for the territory of the Alt Maresme, both from a broader territorial perspective, as from the nearby natural habitats, or what influence they have on the immediate environment for the residents of the different municipalities of the region. At the same time, it is intended to investigate the nature of these ecosystems that shape and drain the territory. It is also proposed to analyze, describe and compare how the accelerated transformation of the last two centuries has modified society and, specifically, the coexistence with the water network of this territory. The aim is to explore the actions that have altered the morphology of the torrential courses to the point of making them disappear from the territory and from collective knowledge. The scope of this analysis aims to construct a narrative on the effects that hydraulic alterations have had on the hydrological network, as well as its impact on the ecosystems of the Maresme. In addition, new strategies of urbanization and coexistence with the torrential spaces are studied, with the aim of recovering and restoring natural spaces and promoting new relationships with the urban ones.
