Abstract
This work shows the results of the experimental study made with an experimental hydrocyclone used in the mineral processing laboratory, EPSEM (Manresa, Barcelona). The study elaborated shows the efficiency curves and cut size of different experiments, changing initial parameters and conditions in order to collect data of the hydrocyclone behaviour. Using a homogeneous material coming from the Barruecopardo mine tailing in small particle size distribution as a slurry base. The data from both outputs of the hydrocyclone and feed have been evaluated and used for the efficiency curves results. Several comparisons between theoretical parameters and the real ones have been done in order to make a previous statement in its behaviour and performance. Once the experimental phase is done, deep comparison between almost similar cases intentionally simulated have been done and discussed the overall of the experiments.
