Abstract
The present study focuses on analyzing the feasibility of the application of a system that takes advantage of the wind energy generated by the ventilation ducts in underground car parks. The main objective is to improve energy efficiency and reduce the environmental impact in this type of facility, especially in those with surfaces greater than 100 m² and a CO2 concentration greater than 50 ppm. Specifically, the proposed system consists of the design of a specific wind turbine for ventilation and air extraction in these car parks. Detailed comparisons of the mechanical and electrical properties of various wind turbine designs have been carried out to optimize their results. In addition, a comprehensive economic analysis has been carried out to assess the financial viability of its implementation. However, some limitations of the study must be taken into account. Firstly, the industrial design and manufacturing process for the production of the device has not been taken into account. Neither has the selection of the suppliers of materials necessary for the construction of the wind turbine been considered. On the other hand, it should be noted that the study is focused exclusively on the application of this system and has not analyzed other external electrical networks. Therefore, the purpose is to provide a specific solution for this particular context. In addition, the study has not addressed the injection of the energy generated into the electricity grid or the possible modifications at the level of regulation, but has focused solely on the optimization of the energy generated by the air flow of the ventilation of the parking lots. After analyzing these factors, it has been concluded that the energy efficiency obtained with this system is not sufficient for its implementation today. Finally, the results of the work shows the necessity of additional improvement to achieve optimal energy efficiency.
