El present Projecte Final de Carrera aborda la rehabilitació i adaptació funcional del Taller Masriera, integrant-hi una doble funció: ateneu veïnal i espai de creació artística, especialment en les arts escèniques. Aquest edifici emblemàtic, amb un riquíssim llegat artístic i històric ubicat a Barcelona, fou inicialment concebut com a taller de pintura pels reconeguts artistes Josep i Francesc Masriera. Des de llavors, ha experimentat diverses transformacions i ha tingut un paper destacat dins l’escena teatral de la Ciutat Comtal, albergant nombroses representacions i esdeveniments culturals.Actualment, es troba en debat sobre quins nous usos ha d’acollir. El projecte implica una investigació detallada del context històric i arquitectònic de l’edifici. Les estratègies de rehabilitació se centren a conservar l’essència arquitectònica original, afegint tecnologies modernes i solucions sostenibles per optimitzar l’ús de l’edifici. Es busca crear un entorn versàtil i inspirador que afavoreixi la creativitat i la col·laboració, tant per als artistes com per a la comunitat local. A més de ser un ateneu veïnal actiu, l’espai fomenta la producció i exhibició d’arts escèniques, com teatre, dansa o música, amb l’objectiu de promoure la cultura i enriquir la vida cultural de la zona. Amb aquesta intervenció, es pretén revitalitzar el Taller Masriera, convertint-lo en un epicentre de la creació artística i el diàleg cultural, consolidant-lo com un espai clau per a les arts escèniques i un centre neuràlgic de la vida comunitària i la participació activa del veïnat.

This Final Master Project addresses the rehabilitation and functional adaptation of Taller Masriera, integrating a dual function: a neighbourhood community centre and a space for artistic creation, particularly in the performing arts. This emblematic building, with a rich artistic and historical legacy located in Barcelona, was initially conceived as a painting studio by the renowned artists Josep and Francesc Masriera. Since then, it has undergone various transformations and has played a significant role in Barcelona’s theatre scene, hosting numerous performances and cultural events. Currently, there is ongoing debate regarding its future uses. The project involves a detailed investigation of the historical and architectural context of the building. The rehabilitation strategies focus on preserving the original architectural essence while incorporating modern technologies and sustainable solutions to optimize the building’s use. The aim is to create a versatile and inspiring environment that fosters creativity and collaboration, both for artists and the local community. In addition to being an active neighbourhood community centre, the space promotes the production and exhibition of performing arts, such as theatre, dance, or music, to promote culture and enrich the cultural life of the area. With this intervention, the aim is to revitalize Taller Masriera, turning it into a hub of artistic creation and cultural dialogue, establishing it as a key space for the performing arts and a central point for community life and active participation of the neighbourhood.
