Due to the shortage of material resources and the high impact of CO2 emissions from materials like steel and concrete, timber is gaining more and more importance within the construction sector. Hilti therefore develops structural connectors for timber applications. In order to support the development of such applications, the ability to simulate the structural behaviour of timber is becoming increasingly important. Within this Master Thesis, based on relevant applications for the development, a use-case will be selected for the simulation. Since timber is similar to composites, it is expected that approaches already existing for composites can be modified for timber. Based on a literature review, various approaches should be tested and validated against test results.
