Desde los inicios de la arquitectura, el patio, o claustro, ha sido un elemento clave y de gran importancia en la composición de los edificios. El patio es un elemento de gran versatilidad, con múltiples estilos, usos y formas que proporciona iluminación, ventilación, privacidad y enriquece la habitabilidad de los espacios arquitectónicos. Por otro lado, en la arquitectura se suele buscar la perfección en las formas, y que éstas estén siempre organizadas de una forma clara y ordenada. La arquitectura persigue el orden entre la incoherente naturaleza del mundo. Pero normalmente la gran cantidad de variables que influyen en el proyecto de una obra de arquitectura dificultan en gran medida esta tarea. La variedad y exigencias del programa, parcelas irregulares, la orientación solar, alineaciones oblicuas y elementos o edificaciones existentes son algunos de los factores que obligan al proyectista a tomar decisiones que se alejan de esa perfección formal, el proyecto se acaba deformando. Éste trabajo se centrará en el desarrollo de una exploración analítica de plantas de diferentes edificios inflexionados, es decir, con alteraciones en su forma o distribución “irregular“, en los que el patio, entendido como un espacio rodeado de arquitectura, exterior y abierto al cielo, toma un papel relevante en la organización y comprensión de la planta.

Since the beginnings of architecture, the patio, or cloister, has been a key element of great importance in the composition of buildings. The patio is a highly versatile element, with multiple styles, uses and forms that provide lighting, ventilation, privacy and enrich the habitability of architectural spaces. On the other hand, in architecture, perfection in forms is usually sought, and that these are always organized in a clear and orderly way. Architecture pursues order among the incoherent nature of the world. But usually the large number of variables that influence the project of an architecture work make it very difficult to this task. The variety and demands of the program, irregular plots, solar orientation, oblique alignments and existing elements or buildings are some of the factors that force the designer to make decisions that move away from that formal perfection, the project ends up deforming. This work will focus on the development of an analytical exploration of the plans of different inflected buildings, that is, with alterations in their shape or “irregular” distribution, in which the patio, understood as a space surrounded by architecture, exterior and open to the sky, plays a relevant role in the organization and understanding of the plant.
