RESUMEN

El presente número de DC papers pretende ofrecer nuevas reflexiones alrededor de algunas arquitecturas que, en circunstancias y tiempos de crisis más desfavorables, fueron capaces de formular alternativas posibles al adocenamiento dictado por el poder. De manera provisional las llamaremos arquitecturas límite, en la medida en que fueron capaces de reflexionar sobre la disciplina y sus posibilidades, aunque ello no coincidiera con la inercia imperante, los programas establecidos o la incapacidad de invención del propio arquitecto.
Las propuestas analizadas deambulan en el límite entre la utopía, considerada desde cualquier punto que un arquitecto pueda concebir, y un encargo que nunca podía llegar y que había que buscar como fuera. Convencidos de la utilidad de su propuesta y de la formulación de una arquitectura crítica, estos proyectos, propuestas y edificios, nos han dejado rastros más que suficientes para constituir un corpus disciplinar que alienta alternativas posibles a la mediocridad del tiempo global. Desde diferentes tiempos y propuestas, la publicación se ocupará de poner sobre la mesa crítica aquellas alternativas que podían irritar o interesar a un poder que no quería necesitarlas o que simplemente no consiguió destruirlas o imposibilitarlas. Como siempre, hay márgenes. La historia nos ofrece muchos ejemplos que incitan a la reflexión. DC hablará de ellos.

SUMMARY

This issue of DC papers aims to provide new insights about some architectures which, in worst circumstances and crisis times, were able to formulate alternatives to mediocrity dictated by power. Provisionally we will call them limit architectures, those which were able to reflect on the discipline and their possibilities, but that doesn’t coincide with the prevailing inertia, the established programs or inability to invention of the architect.
The proposals discussed roam on the border of utopia, seen from any point that an architect could conceive, and a charge that could never come and they had to find and out. Convinced of the usefulness of their proposal and the development of a critical architecture, these projects, proposals and buildings, have left a lot of traces to constitute a disciplinary corpus that encourages alternatives to the mediocrity of the global time. From different times and proposals, the publication will show the alternatives that could irritate or interest a power that would not need them or simply failed to destroy them. As always, margins exist. History offers many examples that encourage to reflection. DC will talk about them.
