Abstract
This thesis examines the powertrain of an electric car. The schematic here
showed is based in a general structure obtained from the already developed EF1
(“Elektrofahrzeug” 1) and MUTE [Mut13]. The powertrain as a system and also each individual component will be explained, providing a deep understanding of its
working processes. The batteries and the BMS will be studied more closely.
Secondly the thesis will focus on the insights of the development of a HiL platform
for BMS’s. Both the hardware and the software architecture of the platform will be
described and explained. In the hardware section, the thesis goes particularly into
the details of the structure of the test bench built for the HiL platform.
The next described is the software architecture which allows the functioning of the platform. It covers from the management of the errors of the platform until the data
logging. On top of it are the simulations modeled.
Lastly, the thesis will bring into focus the two different simulations of the platform:
a simulation of the complete powertrain system and a failure simulation. In the
complete powertrain simulation each component previously described will be
modeled. For further information about the failure simulation, refer to [Bau13].
