Abstract
For most of the teachers, paper-based exercises still account for most of the student assessment in science and engineering degrees. Meanwhile, e-readers with annotation capabilities are blooming. These devices can be combined with off-the-self multi-purpose office machines to get a digital worflow for exercises reviewing. Secod, It improves custody and storage of exam documents.Third, It simplifies grade collecting and allows for the students to view their corrected exercises online. Some preparation is required for this procedure to work: Exercise sheets should be marked ad hoc and one must have access to a multi-purpose office machine with scanning capability. On the part of the reader device, having a pointing device to make annotations on the viewed pages is crucial. This paper describes a working prototype (developed using open-source components) implementing these features and reviews the experience of using it while teaching in an engineering degreee.
