Abstract
When you want to study the images formed by the eye is very commonly used the theoretical or schematic eye. What this method provides a representation of the visual functioning of the eye under the paraxial characteristics.
As stated above, the images most studied either by its terms or their clinical applications have been, for example, the Purkinje or retinal’s image and have neglected other types of images formed by the same eye like the diopter images.
In this final thesis and with the help of a schematic eye and a ray tracing program called Beam 4 we wanted to represent the diopter images as they should be theoretically and we have demonstrated through such techniques. If it is true that these images do not have much clinical significance as if they have their partners, Purkinje images, but by the mere fact that the fourth diopter image is the one must match the retina and, therefore, according to where it falls that image will have an eye with a refractive error is already seeing significant represented. We must also say that the representation of the four diopter images is something that has not been done and we wanted to do just that, take the step of having them all represented in different schemes.
Another activity that we conducted along the representation of these images in a “naked” eye, has been to put different ophthalmic lenses to see how these images are and see the differences.
As mentioned all these representations have been presented in different schemes and has been shown experimentally existing theory about these images.
