This work presents the application o! third arder functions lo the problem o! narrowband array processing. The concept of spatial averaging over every data snapshot is used lo enlarge the capabilities of classic DOA estimation procedures in scenarios containing coherent sources and spatialy correlated noise. The influence of intermodulation products as well as the noise cross terms are removed from the new third arder snapshot by means the spatial average and the third arder cumulant formulation. The resulting procedure can be used over satellite communications scenarios without requiring special features both for impinging sources and noise. At the same time, only asynchronous aperture sampling is required lo form the new third arder snapshot.
