Abstract
Remotely piloted aircraft systems (UAV, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) are an emergent technology with a wide range of applications, such as surveillance, monitoring, search and rescue etc. They comprise a wide variety of sizes (and prices), from the small (and cheap) quadcopters to the Medium/High Altitude Long Endurance (MALE/HALE) aircraft, such as the RQ4 Global Hawk. If we focus on the cheaper band, those aircraft are not only limited in performance (especially from the altitude, endurance and airspeed ceilings) but also in the communication link between the Ground Control Station (GCS) and the unmanned aircraft. On the other hand, we can take advantage of the lower price and perform a multi-UAV system to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks. By using multiple UAVs, both performance and communication issues may be mitigated. Nevertheless several challenges have to be addressed: · Multi-UAV flight planning. · Multi-datalink. · GCS positioning. · etc. The aim of this project is to proof these concepts by using real-time simulations. Several use cases will be investigated, especially in the intensive agriculture, but it also applies in FRONTEX surveillance and search and rescue, among others. Los sistemas de pilotaje remoto

Si nos
centramos
en la banda más económica, estas aeronaves no solo están
limitadas por
rendimientos de vuelo
(especialmente de la altura, la autonomía
y los
techos operativos
)
,
sino también por la comunicación entre la Estación de
Control de Tierra (GCS:

) y el vehículo no tripulado.
Aún así, podemos
aprovechar
las aeronaves de bajo
